Which grass seeds are best for my lawn?
Before choosing seeds you need to understand that lawn grasses come in two groups: cool season grasses and warm season grasses.
Cool season grasses green-up in the cooler temperatures of spring and fall, when soil temperature is 65F or lower. They go dormant when the weather gets hot and dry.
Cool season lawn grasses include fescues, bluegrass, and rye grass. Some fescues prefer shady conditions.
