Are you perfect? Of course not. Nobody is.

Yet a lot of online copy preaches from the mountain top, rather than down with the people, wearing a loose disguise pretending it knows more than it does. This type of copy establishes an instant disconnect between author and reader.

It’s bad enough when this mistake is made with blog copy, but it’s the death nail when it comes to selling a product, especially on a blog.

You’re not perfect and neither are your products and services. And your readers know it. By acting as though your products or services are flawless, you’ll come off as naïve at best and disingenuous at worst.
