Here's eleven rules about creative livelihood I've discovered since beginning a daily meditation practice four years ago.

1. Embrace color as a spiritual value to counteract materialism.

2. Do not make your symbolism too symbolic.

3. Acknowledge that the world was never actually black and white, only the photos were.

4. You can never know everything so you can never know if what you are creating is truly unique an unprecedented. Fortunately it doesn't matter as long as your voice is deeply present.

5. If you want to make money creating great bacon, taking the pig to market is just as important as raising him well.
