Vata represents the air and ether elements.
Vata people usually have tall or thin body frames with less body strength and poor endurance.
They often have low body weight with their muscles and poorly developed, hence their long and lanky body structures.
Vata people have lower immune systems and therefore have less resistance to disease.
The main qualities of Vata are dry, light, cool, rough, subtle and mobile.
So a person having a Vata predominant dosha means that these qualities express themselves greatly in their mental, emotional and physical make up.
In excess, the dry and rough qualities may manifest themselves as dry, brittle and rough skin, lips, hair, nails or bones. They become prone to constipation and can feel “dry” emotionally.
