If you’re anything like me, you may have been raised to believe that self-love had nothing to do with success.

Paying too much attention to yourself was just plain shameful and smacked of conceit.

And, only weak individuals who needed to rely on others to take care of them “pampered” themselves.

You were taught that only hard work mattered and to put your feelings aside in order to become successful in a dog-eat-dog world.

Looking back on it now I can see why self-love eluded me and why it took so long to clear the negative and critical voices from my psyche.
